The 2008 Race A Big Success!

The 2008 West Central Soap Box Derby held it's Local race at the Lakeland Center April 26th. The race included 15 Stock participants.

The Levi Strauss Signature brand announced today that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with the All-American Soap Box Derby (AASBD) to become the title sponsor of the premier youth and family oriented racing program in the United States.

In addition, the Levi Strauss Signature brand's spokes-person and current NASCAR Nextel Cup Series points leader Jimmie Johnson will serve as the AASBD's national spokesperson.

The 2008 Lakeland/Tampa Soap Box Derby Local Race will be held at the Lakeland Center, 701 W Lime St, Lakeland, FL.

The 850 foot track has an elevation drop of approximately 12 feet and uses 6 foot aluminum ramps to get the cars off to a great start. There is approximately 4 degrees of slope at the starting line and a nearly level finish line.
